Woman Robbed At Inwood '1' Train Station: Police

A woman had her cell phone and credit card taken from her while standing within the '1' train station at 215th Street, said the NYPD.

INWOOD, NY — Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to a recent robbery in an Inwood train station near the end of December.

A 58-year-old woman was standing inside the "1" train station at 10th Avenue and West 215 Street, when an attacker attempted to rip her purse from her hands, according to police.

The robbery took place at 2 p.m. on Dec. 22, according to police.

After a subsequent struggle between the attacker and victim, the man was able to pry the woman's cell phone and credit cards from her jacket, police said.

The man then fled the station, jumped on an e-bike, and took off into the Inwood streets, according to police.

Police said the woman wasn't hurt in the robbery.

However, an hour and a half later, the man wanted in connection to the crime was seen on a security camera purchasing $130 worth of goods from Revelation Vuestra in the uptown Manhattan neighborhood, according to police.

NYPD released photos of the man on Thursday.
