Art Southampton Changes Venue and Sets New Dates

Art Miami LLC recently announced plans to reposition the dates and location of its Art Southampton Fair.

The fair is repositioning its location to the world-renowned pastoral grounds of Nova’s Ark Project in Bridgehampton and will shift the dates to July 9th-13th, 2015, making it the first fair of the 2015 Hamptons summer season.

The fair will open Thursday, July 9th with an elegant VIP Private Preview allowing prominent collectors, curators and advisers the first look at the finest works of investment quality contemporary and modern art.

Nick Korniloff, Partner + Director of Art Miami LLC, parent company of Art Southampton said of the planned move, “We have fulfilled our mission of bringing a world-class art fair to the world class community of Southampton over the last three years and now are realigning our dates and location for our patrons convenience. This move to a more central location in Bridgehampton will allow easier access for all of our collectors on the East End. Furthermore, the extraordinary sculpture ground that the late Nova Mihai Popa and his life partners Tundra Wolf and Luna Shanaman created is the perfect setting for our fair”.

Nova’s Art Project, set on a sprawling 90 acre nature preserve, is the result of a four decade dream of its founders who wanted it to be a place the world could interact with, enjoy and dream about.

They wanted to challenge and stir the imagination.

Nova’s legacy is a sculpture park and gallery complex featuring more than 50 of his monumental pieces, carried on by his longtime life partners Tundra Wolf and Luna Shanaman.

Adding to these new developments, Korniloff announced the appointment of Regine Basha to the position of Exhibitor Relations and Creative Director.

Basha has been curating innovative exhibitions and special projects of contemporary art for nearly 20 years for institutions, public space and private galleries in New York and in art scenes such as Istanbul, Los Angeles, Austin, Cairo, Marfa, Dallas, and Montreal where she got her start in the early 90s (see www.bashaprojects.com) most recently with artists Nina Katchadourian, Paul Pfeiffer, Stephen Vitiello and Basim Magdy.

She has served as curatorial consultant for a number of non-profit institutions including Museum of Art & Design, New York, Creative Capital, Queens Museum Studio Residency Program, Columbia University, Ballroom Marfa, Art Omi Residency, Sculpture Center and Bloomberg Financial Headquarters.

She consults on large-scale public projects for the New York based No Longer Empty and serves on the board of the foundation, Art Matters.

Now readying for its 4th season, Art Southampton has already cemented its status as the premier contemporary and modern art fair in the Hamptons, offering the highest quality of 20th- and 21st-century masters, as well as, noteworthy emerging artists.

Last year’s VIP Preview benefiting the Parrish Art Museum and Southampton Hospital sponsored by GRAFF Diamonds, Maserati of North America, and Ruinart Champagne set a new standard in luxury presentation and attracted top collectors, cultural leaders and philanthropists of the East End and attendance exceeded last year’s VIP Preview of 4,200 guests throughout the the evening.

During the course of the fair, a record 21,000 collectors, art enthusiasts, curators and influencers to its luminous 100,000 square-foot pavilion over a five-day course.
