Bicyclist Struck by Car in Hampton Bays

The accident occurred Saturday morning, police say.

A bicyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Hampton Bays Saturday morning, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, at about 8:37 a.m. a vehicle traveling westbound on Montauk Highway and attempting to make a left onto West Tiana Road struck the bicyclist who was riding eastbound on Montauk Highway.

The male bicyclist was found lying in the roadway by responding officers. He was conscious and transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center by the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Police did not identify the bicyclist or the driver. No criminal charges have been filed.
