Clerk Sold Alcohol To Minor In Westhampton Beach: Cops

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — A clerk at a Westhampton Beach liquor store was nabbed for selling alcohol to a minor, police said.

According to New York State Police, on Sunday, the New York State Police Barracks in Riverside conducted an underage drinker enforcement operation in the Town of Southampton. During the operation, one retail establishment was cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover state police operative under the age of 21, police said.

John C. Altshul, 67, a clerk at Six Corners East Liquors on Mill Rd. in Westhampton Beach, was arrested and charged with first degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage, police said.

Also checked and found to be in compliance, police said, were:

1.) 7-Eleven on Montauk Highway in East Quogue.

2.) Empire Mini-Mart on Montauk Highway in East Quogue.

3.) Kaylee’s Wine & Liquor on Montauk Highway in East Quogue.

4.) Speedway on Montauk Highway in Quogue.

5.) Quogue Liquor Store on Jessup Ave. in Quogue.

6.) KP Westhampton Wine Shop on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach.

7.) Westhampton Beach Valero on Montauk Highway in Westhampton.

8.) 7-Eleven on Sunset Ave in Westhampton.

9.) 7-Eleven on Mill Rd. in Westhampton.

10.) Hamptons Wine Shoppe on Sunset Ave in Westhampton Beach.

11.) S & L Wine & Liquor on Montauk Highway in Speonk.
