East End Valedictorians, Salutatorians Honored In Hampton Bays

The seniors shared stories of their journeys, including the challenges of the pandemic.

EAST END, NY — East End valedictorians and salutatorians who've made their families and hometowns proud were honored recently.

Senator Anthony Palumbo and Assemblyman Fred Thiele paid tribute to Class of 2022 valedictorians and salutatorians from six East End schools during an annual ceremony at Hampton Bays High School on June 6, the district said.

The top-ranking seniors were presented with proclamations for their hard work and dedication. They represented the Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Hampton Bays, Sag Harbor, Shoreham-Wading River and Westhampton Beach school districts, officials said.

Palumbo and Thiele spoke about their careers. And then, the seniors shared stories about their journeys through high school, their passions, the difficulties they had faced during the pandemic and their plans for the future, the district said.

Friends, family members, school administrators and the guests of honor were also served a brunch prepared by Hampton Bays High School culinary students.
