East Hampton Man Caught Driving Drunk On Sunrise Highway: Cops

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — An East Hampton man was busted for driving drunk on Sunrise Highway, police said.

According to New York State Police, on Nov. 16 at 9:39 a.m., Washington Aucapina-Parra, 47, was driving on Sunrise Highway near exit 65 in Hampton Bays and was stopped for failure to maintain lane and driving on the shoulder.

Upon further investigation, Aucapina-Parra was found to be intoxicated and refused a breath test; he was charged with driving while intoxicated and was held for morning arraignment in Southampton Justice Court, police said.
