Eight Acres Purchased in Hampton Bays

The Town of Southampton purchased the land from MTM Realty Corp.

The Town of Southampton announced on Friday that it purchased eight acres of open space in Hampton Bays from MTM Realty Corp. and TEG Management Corp.

According to a release to the media, the land, which sits at the easterly gateway of Hampton Bays on Montauk Highway and Old Riverhead Road, was bought for $1,100,000 using Community Preservation Funds.

Of the purchase, Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst said, "Hampton Bays residents have been advocating for the preservation of this property for years.  In closing this deal, we are helping to protect the natural character of the hamlet for generations to come."
