Not all stress is bad, but when we become overwhelmed with events in our lives and let the tensions build, we become "distressed." This two hour presentation will discuss the
nature of stress and the impact of chronic stress on our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Coping skills and relaxation techniques that can help us manage the stress in our lives will be discussed. These techniques include exercise, nutrition, yoga, meditation, humor, and cognitive reframing; changing our perceptions from negative to more positive ones. A holistic approach to stress management is the integration and balance of mind, body, spirit and emotions, and all aspects must be treated equally for optimal health and well-being.
