Update: Family Searching for Missing Cat Thrilled as Ash Finds His Way Home

Ash, who never wanders far from his yard or front porch, had been missing since Saturday.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — Update: In the happiest of endings, Ash has found his way home. He appeared at the door Monday night.

Original story: An East Quogue family is searching desperately for their beloved cat, Ash, who went missing Saturday.

According to Kathy Tureski, Ash is a long haired, fluffy, black cat, "very lovable," and both neutered and chipped.

He went missing from Oakville Country Estates and was last seen around 11 a.m. Saturday. Ash, who normally stays in the front yard or on a chair on the front porch, never came home on Saturday, she said.

Ash, who is between 10 and 12 years old, belongs to Kathy and Bob's son Christian, who picked him out of Southampton Town animal shelter, before it was privatized, for his birthday.

"He was the runt of the litter," she said. "But, oh, so lovable."

Tureski said it's very unlike Ash to just wander off, making her wonder if he may have been taken, or if he is trapped in a basement or garage nearby.

She's been searching many times daily since Saturday, Tureski said.

"I hope he does come home because he's missed very much," she said.

Anyone who sees Ash should call 631-653-6209.
