Friends Come Together To Help Widow

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Family and friends are opening their hearts to a widow who's spent her life helping others.

"My Aunt Val lost her husband last night," wrote Nina Maria Garcia Tripodi, on behalf of Valarie Riscen; Tripodi created a GoFundMe page, "David Riscen Memorial Fund."

"This is a woman who doesn't ask for help from anyone, but who will be the first to help anyone. She has taken in many 'strays,' as she call us kids and has housed and fed us when in need," she wrote.

"She is a strong woman who i admire so much, who needs some help now, but would never ask herself. We, some of her 'strays,' are setting up this GoFundMe account on her behalf," Tripodi said.
