Frolicking Good Fun Polar Plunge Raises Funds: Photos
Westhampton Beach Middle School students organized the event to raise funds for East End Disability Associates.
WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Chilly temps did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the participants who took place in the Westhampton Beach Polar Plunge at Rogers Beach recently.
Some even wore costumes but all who turned out, including Westhampton Beach Fire Department members, were smiling as they took a frosty plunge for a good cause.
According to Kelly Russell, a Westhampton Beach Middle School teacher whose 8th grade Critical Literacy students organized the event, proceeds were donated to East End Disability Associates; this year, $2,650 was raised.

Hampton Coffee Company she said, "generously donated coffee and hot chocolate — and the community turned out joyously to support us."
Of East End Disability Associates, she said, "We are so honored to organize and support them."
