Hampton Bays Chef Opens Doors to North Fork Restaurant

The eatery features new menu additions and remodeling.

David Distenfeld, of Hampton Bays, has re-opened a North Fork restaurant that he co-owns with his business partner, Danelle Grzegorczyk.

The Crazy Fork, a seafood eatery that launched last August in Mattituck reopened, according Distenfeld, after it closed in January and Februry for some remodeling.

Aside from new design features, the eatery re-opened with some new menu additions, including burgers, steak sandwich, steamers, pan seared salmon and blackened catfish.

The Crazy Fork offers traditional appetizers like oysters on the half shell, clams casino, fish tacos, salads, soups and fried baskets, and sandwiches in the $9 to $15 dollar range. Entrees include stuffed flounder, seafood and chicken gumbo and a five-spiced rubbed tuna, all for under $20.

The restaurant also offers take-out and catering.

Distenfeld was trained at the Culinary Institute of America and has worked in restaurants, hotels and private chef situations in New York City, Boston and Long Island.
