Hampton Bays Middle School Students Visit Senior Center
Several members of the school's Builders Club sat down with senior citizens to learn about their lives

To make connections between students and the Town of Southampton’s senior citizen population, the Hampton Bays Middle School Builders Club embarked on a journey through time.
Recently, 20 Builders Club members sat down with five senior citizens from the Southampton Senior Center, ranging in age from 70 to 90, to learn as much as possible about their lives and the history of the town.
The information they gained was shared with their peers at an Honor Ceremony, held on Dec. 16.

“It was truly an incredible experience for both the students and seniors,” Joan Moran, Builders Club advisor, said. “Making these connections is such an important piece in creating strong relationships between our school and community.”
The Builders Club is a Kiwanis Community Service Club with a goal to develop competent, capable and caring leaders through community service.
