Hampton Bays Senior Named 2015-16 National Hispanic Scholar

Congratulations to David Ramirez!

Hampton Bays High School senior David Ramirez has been named a 2015-16 National Hispanic Scholar through the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program.

Ramirez qualified for the designation based on his high PSAT score.

He is one of 5,000 Hispanic students to earn the designation out of over 250,000 Hispanic students who took the PSAT last year.

Ramirez said he was thrilled to learn of the honor and believes it will help him to gain admission into one of the universities he has his eye on, including Stony Brook University and NYU.

In college, he intends to study computer science.

In addition to his dedication to his academics, Ramirez participates in his school’s Future Business Leaders of America clubs and Mathletes team.

He is also the treasurer of his school’s robotics team.
