Hampton Bays Students Raise Funds to Fight Juvenile Diabetes
The new Hampton Bays High School Leo Club was formed to help give back to others in need.

WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS - A brand-new club based on giving back has already impacted students in a meaningful way.
The Hampton Bays High School Leo Club, organized just a few months ago, has already made significant strides in giving back to the community.
On April 4, club members presented the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation with a donation $435 check. They raised the money through a Valentine’s Day fundraiser in which they sold chocolate lollipops to their peers.

Following their successful JDRF fundraiser, the Leo Club made it a goal to continue their altruistic success and raise money for an orphanage in Costa Rica, a release said.
To that end, the group is holding a “Sweatin’ for Cash” spin event at Marvil Fit in Hampton Bays.

To support the cause and in appreciation of the students’ volunteer efforts during their organization’s March event, the Riverhead Lions Club has pledged $1 per mile for each rider.
