New Report: Hampton Bays Is Affordable

Coldwell Banker says average home prices in the area is $506,416.

released a new nationwide report, called the Home Listing Report, last week, which shows that Hampton Bays is one of 164 affordable communities in New York State.

Sitting at number 136, with an average price for a four-bedroom, two-bath home in Hampton Bays is $506,416.

Hampton Bays also made the national affordable communities list.  It ranked 2,088 out of 2,300 in the nation.

No other East End community made the state list — the closest community deemed affordable was Manorville, which was ranked 155 with the average home price $604,522.

The most affordable community in the state, according to the report, is Niagara Falls with an average home price of $60,820.

Of the report, which used home sales data from September 2010 and March 2011, Jim Gillespie, chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, said, “We know that home buying remains a deeply personal lifestyle decision, and we believe that reports like this, along with trusted real estate agents, will help today’s buyers make smart decisions.”
