Have a Falafel Sandwich in Quogue.

, which promises to be the go-to breakfast spot in Quogue this summer, also serves lunch. Portions are generous, produce is fresh and the fries are impossibly crispy.

The Dish: Falafel sandwich on a pita with avocado, sprouts, tomato and lettuce. Served with fries and a side of tzatziki sauce ($10.50).

What’s Inside: Falafel are ground chickpea fritters most often flavored with cumin, corriander, parsley and garlic; they are usually fried. At Beth's the deep fryer is passed over for the frying pan making the fritters light and tender. The pita contains overflowing amounts of avocado, ripe tomatoes (in season they're from Early Girl Farm in Moriches) alfalfa sprouts and mesclun lettuce. The sandwich is almost a salad; I resorted to using my fork. The delicious tzatziki sauce, made from yogurt and cucumbers, is served on the side. Dip the chips in it.

How’s it Taste: Fresh, light and delicious. The avocado was ripe, not too hard or mushy and black, and the falafel had just the right amount of spice.

Sides: The sandwich, and many other items on the lunch menu, comes with very crispy waffle-cut fries. They were so crispy that even after they cooled off, they still packed a punch. How does she do it?
