Police: Man Arrested For Driving With BAC Twice Legal Limit by Eastport Elementary School
The man was stopped by a trooper monitoring traffic as part of a statewide "No Empty Chairs" Teen Driving Safety Campaign.

A Westhampton Beach man was arrested for driving drunk with a BAC twice the legal limit when he was pulled over by a New York State trooper monitoring traffic in Eastport as part of a statewide “No Empty Chairs” Teen Driving Safety Campaign on Monday afternoon, police said.
The trooper was on County Route 80 in Eastport by Eastport Elementary School when he stopped a car for driving 38 mph in a 20 mph school zone and driving across the roadway markings, police said.
Police found the driver, Mariano Perez Alvapado, 25, was intoxicated and he was placed under arrest.

He provided a positive breath sample of .16 blood alcohol content, police said.
Alvapado was released on traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Southampton Court on April 29.
