Roughly 2,000 Remain Without Power, Mostly In Hampton Bays Area
A cooling and charging center is open in Hampton Bays — with coronavirus protocols in place, town supervisor says.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY —As cleanup after Tropical Storm Isaias commences across the East End, roughly 2,000 remained without power in Southampton Town Wednesday morning, mostly in the Hampton Bays area, Supervisor Jay Schneiderman said.
A cooling and charging center was opened Wednesday at the Hampton Bays Senior Center, located at 25 Ponquogue Avenue.
Social distancing protocols are in place; no more than 35 people can be present, and masks must be worn and will be provided if needed, Schneiderman said. All visitors must fill out attestation forms and be temperature scanned upon arrival, he added.
