UPDATE: San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons Rescheduled Due to Expected High Winds

Update:
The San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons, which was expected to have over 20,000 attendees, has been postponed event officials announced on Thursday afternoon.
The festival, which was originally scheduled for this weekend, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18, according to the event’s Facebook page.

The 5th annual San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons is still kicking off this weekend despite the warning of Hurricane Joaquin possibly hitting the area.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct 4 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Good Ground Road at the Hampton Bays LIRR station.
The event is still taking place this weekend as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the event’s Facebook page.
“Hurrican Joaquin has taken a southwest track and will arrive if at all after the weekend,” the Facebook post reads.
According to the National Weather Service, the hurricane might reach the Long Island-area on Monday with wind speeds as high as 90 to 100 mph.
The event is set to include food, musical entertainment, fireworks, a car and vespa raffle, rides, and more.
Proceeds from this event will go towards the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons Scholarship fund, Maureens Haven and Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Southampton Hospital.
