Fish tacos at Brewster's mixes Hamptons and Tex-Mex

The quest for the best seafood lunch in Westhampton-Hampton Bays continues. And as is the norm around in our area, cooks and restaurateurs are always coming up with new ways to prepare our native flounder. Frying is a no-brainer but then what?

The Dish: Fish Tacos. A generous amount of fresh, hot fried flounder with seasoned breadcrumbs wrapped in a small flour tortilla. But first the tortilla is lined with avocado-corn salsa. Avocados are good on everything, and the cook doesn't skimp. Can't wait until the salsa can be made with local corn. (And guys, maybe next time heat up the tortillas?) The two tacos come with crunchy fries and homemade coleslaw. A little dash of the hot sauce doesn't hurt either.

The Place: , 252 East Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, at the corner of Canoe Place Road. Diners who eat in receive 10 percent off any retail purchase, including fish and clothing, spices, etc.
