Summer Concert Series Unveiled At Good Ground Park

See what great bands are on the lineup — with a host of other fun family events also scheduled for the summer season.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Summertime, the livin' is easy and the music is wafting on the warm breeze, especially in Hampton Bays, where the season's concert lineup at Good Ground Park has been unveiled.

Residents can get ready to rock the park as some of the region’s top bands perform at Good Ground Park this summer. And, the 2018 schedule for “Good Ground on Stage” also includes movie nights and Shakespeare in the Park.

The free events take place at the sunken amphitheater at Good Ground Park, located at 9A Squiretown Road in Hampton Bays. While natural seating for the stage in the round is plentiful, guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket and have a picnic in the park.

The season starts off with a Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Kicking off the summer concert series will be “Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks” on Thursday, June 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., co-sponsored by the Southampton Superior Officers Association.

Next, a family Movie Night takes place on Thursday, July 12 at 8:30 p.m. with a showing of “Independence Day," sponsored by the Hampton Bays Library and the Southampton Youth Bureau.

And then, it's a blast from the past with music from the 70s on Saturday, July 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring “Feelin’ Groovy”, co-sponsored by the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons.

On Thursday, July 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the public is invited to dance to the sounds of the “Earth, Wind and Fire Tribute Band”, sponsored by the Southampton Cultural Center.

The East End’s future stars will shine at the annual summer youth concert on Friday, July 20, from 6:30 p.m. 9 p.m., co-sponsored by the Southampton Town Youth Bureau.

On Thursday, July 26, the “Nancy Atlas Project” takes the stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., co-sponsored by the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce.

The “Hoodoo Loungers” kick off the month of August on Thursday, August 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For theater lovers, the debut of “Shakespeare in the Park” takes place on Monday, August 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Movie Night returns on Thursday, August 9 from 8 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. with “Shrek."

An “Open Mic Night” hosted by the town's youth bureau take place on Friday, August 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The summer concert series rounds off with a performance by one of the East End favorite’s “Mambo Loco”, co-sponsored by the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce, on August 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
