Teen Stole Property From More Than 30 Vehicles: Police

He targeted vehicles in the North Sea and Hampton Bays areas, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays teen has been charged with stealing from vehicles in the Hampton Bays and North Sea areas, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the department's detective division arrested Brandon C. Rogers, 17, on Feb. 14; his arrest stems from a lengthy investigation into a series of vehicle larcenies, police said.

As a result of the investigation, Rogers was identified as the person who entered and attempted to steal or stole property from more than 30 vehicles, during a time from from mid-January, 2019 to the first week of February, police said.

Rogers is being charged with one count of fourth degree grand larceny, a felony, for utilizing stolen credit cards taken from one of the vehicles, police said. He is also being charged with seven counts of petty larceny, misdemeanors, police said.

The Hampton Bays neighborhoods reportedly impacted were in the area of Neptune Ave., Pine View Lane, Suffolk Rd., King St., Gravel Hill Rd., Ocean Ave., Ginny Lane, Maryland Blvd., St Johns Rd., and Emerson Court, police said.

The North Sea neighborhoods reportedly impacted were Widener Rd., Roses Grove Rd., and the Middle Line Highway area, police said.
