Westhampton Beach College and Career Center Named for Gordon A. Werner

Werner served on the Board of Education for 12 years.

Westhampton Beach High School’s new College and Career Center was dedicated in memory of former Board of Education member Gordon A. Werner, who served on the Board for 12 years.

“Gordon Werner was a true community servant, always putting others first and it is only fitting that we remember him in this way,” Superintendent of Schools Michael R. Radday said.

Board member James Hulme echoed Superintendent Radday’s comments, adding that Gordon’s memory will live on with the dedication of the center in his name.

“As a family, we appreciate this remarkable way to remember our dad, husband and pops,” Werner’s daughter, Kristin Kalisak said during the event.

The new center provides students with a place to research college and careers, as well as obtain assistance with college applications and essays from guidance counselors and teachers.
