Westhampton Beach Elementary School Students Participate in Walk to School Day
The students walked to school as part of the international campaign earlier last week.
Westhampton Beach Elementary School students not only accumulated a few extra steps but also numerous health benefits as they participated in International Walk to School Day this October.
The annual campaign, which began in 1997, has grown tremendously over the years as an international initiative to promote healthier habits, a clean environment and traffic reduction.
To help the entire school participate in the event, students and staff gathered in the Waldbaums parking lot on Sunset Avenue on the morning of the event and walked the quarter mile distance to school together.
