Westhampton Beach High School Students Earn AP Scholar Awards

Awards include: AP Scholars, AP Scholar with Distinction, AP Scholars with Honors and National AP Scholars.

Students Westhampton Beach High School have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP exams that they took last May.

In total, 60 students were named AP Scholars, 26 earned the title of AP Scholar with Distinction, nine were named AP Scholars with Honors and four were ranked as National AP Scholars.

The Westhampton Beach School District has been running an AP program for the past 20 years in an effort to provide students with college-level rigor in a high school setting.

The district’s AP program, which caters to 409 students, also gives students the ability to not only earn college credits, but also demonstrate to colleges that they are willing to go beyond minimum high school requirements by choosing to take on more rigorous AP courses.

Westhampton Beach currently provides 21 AP courses, including popular classes such as AP World History, AP Macroeconomics, AP United States History and AP English and Language & Composition. The district also started offering AP Computer Science this year.
