Five Westhampton Beach seniors have earned the title of Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program as a result of their outstanding scores on the qualifying exam.
The students are among 34,000 students throughout the nation to earn this distinction and to be recognized for their “exceptional academic promise.”
To earn the title, they placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 National Merit Competition by taking the PSAT.
