Westhampton Free Library To Close For Renovations
Plans include an expansion of the children's program room in the library and a quiet study room.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — The Westhampton Free Library will close later this month for renovations.
The library will close from Monday, Feb. 25 to Monday, March 18, and is slated to reopen on Tuesday, March 19, according to a release.
Patrons are asked to check with the library regarding cancellations, rescheduling and relocation of previously scheduled programs during the designated time.

Once complete, the renovation project will result in the conversion of 2,500 square feet of unused space into usable space.
The plan, which was designed after a series of community charrettes, includes an expansion of the children’s program room and a reconfiguration of the main floor to accommodate a more efficient flow, additional book stacks and a quiet study room, the library said in a release.

The project is expected to be completed by May and is being predominantly funded through private donations, including funds bequeathed to the library by Ann Skovek in her will, the release explained.
