Woman Cuffed For DWI In Hampton Bays: Cops

She was stopped at 3:35 a.m. for changing lanes unsafely and an inadequate headlight, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays woman was charged with DWI, police said.

According to New York State Police, Karen P. Monestel-Ramirez, 31, was arrested on Sunday at 3:35 a.m.; she was driving west on Montauk Highway east of Bellows Pond Road in Hampton Bays and was stopped for moving from lane unsafely and an inadequate headlight.

Upon further investigation, Monestel-Ramirez was found to be intoxicated with a BAC of .10%, police said.

Monestel-Ramirez was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated, and is due back in Southampton Justice Court on Nov. 12, police said.
