$17,000 Worth Of Drugs Seized From Long Island Home: Police

BREAKING: A 27-year-old man is in a heap of trouble after police executed a search warrant at his home Thursday.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – A 27-year-old man was arrested after police executed a search warrant at his home Thursday and found more than $17,000 worth of drugs inside, Suffolk Police said.

Following an investigation into drug sales, Narcotics Section detectives, Second Precinct Special Operations Team detectives and Second Precinct Gang Unit officers executed a search warrant at 73 Adams Road Apt. 1G in Central Islip, police said.

  • Approximately 170 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $12,000
  • Approximately 140 oxycodone pills with an estimated street value of $4,200
  • Approximately 4 ½ ounces of marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,000
  • A loaded .38 caliber Charter Arms revolver
  • Twenty .38 caliber bullets
  • A bulletproof tactical vest
  • $400 cash
  • Two digital gram scales
  • Two cellphones

A resident at the home, 27-year-old Fignole Cosmeus, was arrested and charged with two counts of third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance three counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a firearm, fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana and second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Cosmeus will be held overnight at the Second Precinct for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.

The bust comes two days after police say they found a stash of drugs and weapons at the home of a man who allegedly sold cocaine from a Long Island pizzeria.
