Recently I brought my Grandchildren to the Casamento pool. The one that was originally closed by the town due to cutbacks. However, due to the tragic events in Brentwood the Casamento pool in West Islip was reopened, for the use of West Islip and Brentwood residents. I paid $7.00 for each five and six year old and $2.00 for myself and my wife who are both seniors for a total of $18.00. Half of the pool was closed due to swim lessons for the Brentwood youth. Also, we were not permitted entry until 1030, while surprisingly the swim lessons were going on since before 1000. Upon leaving I observed the price list for Brentwood residents as compared to West Islip residents. Brentwwod Senior $1.00 West Islip $2.00 Brentwood Adult $4.00 West Islip $7.00. I can understand the free busing to the West Islip Pool from Brentwood known as the Special Recreation Alternatives. However, I do not understand the inconsistent fees. Someone from the town please explain.
