Community Comes Together To Raise Money For Local Girl Suffering From Cancer
A fundraising event will be held this weekend to raise money for Autumn and her family.

All parents know having a baby can be a difficult and expensive challenge, but for local parents Michael and Jessica Michaelos, that challenge became a nightmare.
The couple's daughter, Autumn, who is barely two-years-old, was diagnosed with a Fibromatosis Soft Cell Sarcoma last year.
Since November 2016, the Sarcoma has been unresponsive to several different treatment options while rapidly growing and now is dangerously affecting her airway.

Recently, Autumn was admitted to Cohen’s Children's Hospital in Queens to begin aggressive treatments to shrink the tumor in hopes that she can soon have surgery.
She was in the hospital for a 2 days to receive the new treatment and be monitored. Autumn has now undergone two treatment sessions, and is scheduled for one more before her next scan in mid-June, the week of her 2nd birthday.

Due to her medical issues, her parents have been left with no choice but to take time off of work to be by her side.
However, the financial burden has become too much for their family to shoulder, with medical bills piling up.
In order to help the Michaelos, a fundraising event was created to help raise money for the family.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 11, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Farrell’s of Brooklyn on e63 Higbie Lane in West Islip.
There will be live music, food, a 50/50 and raffle prizes.
In addition to the event, a fundraising page was created on GoFundMe. The page set out to raise $50,000 for the family. As of Friday, the page raised a total of $28,250.
