band of “catadores”—self-designated pickers of recyclable materials. Director Lucy 

Walker and co-directors João Jardim and Karen Harley have great access to the entire 

process and, in the end, offer stirring evidence of the transformative power of art and the 

alchemy of the human spirit. Film Talk with Dylan Skolnick of the Cinema Arts 

Centre of Huntington will begin at 6:30. Film screening will start at 7:00.This 

program is free and opened to the public. It is made possible through funds from 

Suffolk County Executive Office.
