Encounter the wild world of Long Island in these unique programs designed for children ages 3-5 and at least one accompanying adult.

Leaf and Flower Prints
Thursday, July 14; 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
We’ll take a hike in the woods to search for interesting leaves and flowers and then make colorful prints with what we’ve found.

In Search Of Dragons

Lakeland County Park, Islandia
Dragons do exist, but we’ll need nets instead of swords to get a close-up look at this fierce predator.  Join us as we learn all about the incredible dragonfly.

Butterfly Fun
Thursday, August 4; 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Join us as we celebrate some of nature’s most colorful critters.  We’ll learn about the butterfly’s special features and then take a hike in search of them.

 

Life In A Pond
Thursday, August 18; 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Blydenburg County Park, Smithtown
Do you know that a pond is filled with living animals!  We’ll learn about the life in a pond and meet some of the fascinating creatures that dwell beneath the surface as we dig through the muck in search of these hidden critters.

 

End of Summer Celebration
Thursday, September 1; 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
As summer wanes, many of our regular program participants will be moving on to greater adventures.  We’ll have a small party to recognize those who have traveled through the summer series with us and to welcome those who are new to our program.  We’ll also break into small groups for a challenging scavenger hunt.  Refreshments will be provided.
