Homeless Man Charged With Attempted Robbery, Robbery Of Two Banks: Police
The 25-year-old attempted to rob a West Islip bank before robbing a Babylon bank 15 minutes later, police say.

A homeless man was arrested on Thursday for the attempted robbery of a West Islip bank and robbery of a Babylon bank earlier this week, according to Suffolk Police.
Corey Suozzo, 25, was charged with third degree attempted robbery and third degree robbery.

"Twenty-one out of 23 bank robberies in Suffolk County have been cleared due to the excellent police work of the Suffolk County Police Department, particularly through the use of fingerprint analysis by the Identification Section and outstanding investigative work by the Major Case Unit," Police Commissioner Timothy D. Sini said. "Our message to criminals is if you rob a bank in Suffolk County, you will not pass go, you will not collect the money, and you will go directly to jail."
Suozzo will be held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment on Friday.

Police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a West Islip bank before robbing a Babylon bank within 15 minutes on Wednesday morning.
According to Suffolk Police, a man entered Astoria Bank on 526 Union Boulevard at 9:10 a.m., approached a teller and displayed a note demanding cash.
The teller did not comply and the man fled.
About 15 minutes later, the man entered Capital One on 8 Little East Neck Road about 2.5 miles away, approached a teller and presented a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the man fled on foot.
The robber was described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 with a medium build and dark-colored facial hair. He was wearing a black knit hat, a black T-shirt and black pants.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
