The Town of Islip Animal Shelter is home to many lovable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that are desperately looking to join the right family. The shelter takes great pride in providing a clean and caring environment for all of their pets
The Islip Animal Shelter introduces you to a Calico cat. Skittles is her name and she's as sweet as candy.
Not only is this cat quick to cozy up next to people but she is all paws for peeping into her neighbor’s cages to give a friendly hello. With the expression "curiosity killed the cat" in mind, the shelter reports Skittles is one inquisitive little kitty. What she is most curious about is when a warm and loving family will adopt her.

He is a mixed breed dog and is only six months old. Like any peppy pup, Licorice loves to run around and play. Watching him in action is always a treat. This little guy enjoys a good game of fetch and is especially fond of frolicking in the snow.
The shelter says that since Licorice is just a baby he will need some training. He is neutered and up-to-date with all of his shots. Licorice’s Pet ID Tag Number is 0080. The shelter would love for you to come in and meet Licorice.
All animals at the shelter (210 South Denver Avenue, Bay Shore) are vaccinated, spayed and neutered before leaving. The organization requires a pet adoption fee along with a pet application which can be found on the their website.
