LIRR Schedule Mess Continues for Babylon on Thursday
Morning and Evening trains have been canceled

The MTA has announced the cancellation of 33 morning rush hour trains on Thursday, including three in Babylon. The LIRR will once again be running 75 percent of the 144 morning rush hour trains that normally operate.Â
The following westbound morning Babylon trains have been canceled:
- The 6:15 a.m. Babylon train due in Atlantic Terminal at 7:27 a.m.
- The 8:16 a.m. Babylon train due in Penn Station at 9:31 a.m.
- The 8:35 a.m. Babylon train due in Penn Station at 9:37 a.m.
The eastbound evening (4-8 p.m.) schedule has been altered also. They'll be running 68 percent of the regular 127 trains, up from 66 percent on Wednesday

The following evening trains from Penn Station have been canceled:

- The 4:04 p.m. from NY due in Babylon at 5:05 p.m.
- The 4:16 p.m. from Atlantic Terminal due in Babylon at 5:28 p.m.
- The 4:34 p.m. from NY due in Babylon at 5:39 p.m.
- The 4:52 p.m. from NY due in Babylon at 5:55 p.m.
- The 6:33 p.m. from NY due in Babylon at 7:35 p.m.
- The 7:41 p.m. from NY due in Babylon at 8:55 p.m.
Crews have been working around the clock to check more than 200 wires that could have been damaged during Monday's cable fire. From the preliminary LIRR investigation into the incident, it appears that the cause of the cable fire was weather-related, but confirmation is still pending.
