• Father was stabbed by son more than 40 times in Mastic apartment attack, DA says (greaterlongisland.com) — A Suffolk grand jury has indicted a Lake Ronkonkoma man who pleaded not guilty to murdering his father in a Mastic apartment earlier this month. The victim, Edward Brown, a social worker and musician born in West Islip, was remembered by family as a gentle, thoughtful mentor devoted to helping others and raising his three sons.
