Police: Another Threat Toward West Islip High Unfounded
School was briefly locked down Thursday afternoon.

A bomb threat made toward West Islip High School Thursday afternoon was unfounded, police said.
Police received a 911 call at 2:34 p.m. reporting the threat, which was made on a social media site, according to a recorded call to parents from West Islip Superintendent Bernadette Burns.
The high school was briefly locked down while police investigated. The investigation is continuing, police said.

The threat comes just days after a shooting and bombing threat was made toward the school via an online chat operated by the Boys Town suicide hotline in Nebraska. That threat was also unfounded.
