Police: Home Health Aide From Bay Shore Stole, Deposited Checks From Patient
Woman stole from Seaford homeowners while working for Help at Home in Islip, cops said.

A Bay Shore woman faces charges after cashing checks she stole from a Seaford homeowner where she was a home health care aide, according to Nassau County Police.
Cops said Tiffany Douglas, 28, was assigned to a Mattituck Avenue home while working for Help at Home in Islip. Between Aug. 23 and 30, Douglas allegedly took personal checks from the homeowners, wrote them out to cash, and deposited them in her personal bank account, police said.

A total of $1,345 was deposited into Douglas’ account, detectives said.
Douglas was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. She was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree theft. She was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court in October.
