Snowfall Totals Across Long Island

An intense band of wind-blown snow smacked the region Friday morning, dropping up to 2 inches in some areas in just a couple of hours.

The heavier than expected snow, which created messy driving conditions during rush hour, has now moved on, with a dry and cold weekend on tap in West Islip, but here’s a look at the unofficial National Weather Service snowfall totals reported across the island Friday:

• Old Bethpage- 2 inches
• Valley Stream- 2 inches
• Westbury- 2 inches
• Plainview- 2 inches
• Floral Park- 2 inches
• Merrick- 1.9 inches
• Woodbury- 1.5 inches

Suffolk

• Baiting Hollow- 2 inches
• Melville- 2 inches
• Mattituck- 1.9 inches
• Smithtown- 1.7 inches
• Lake Ronkonkoma- 1.5 inches
