West Islip No Longer Home to LI's Lowest Priced Gas

Patch's weekly column explores where residents can find the cheapest fuel in town

A Bay Shore gas station has taken over the reigns as the home of Long Island's cheapest regular gas, a title the Valero station in West Islip has held for nearly three weeks.

According to LongIslandGasPrices.com, the Valero station, located at 225 Higbie Lane and West Islip Boulevard, now offers the fourth lowest price for regular on the island, at $2.69 per gallon, up 8 cents from last week. Cash or a Valero card must be used in order to receive that price.

The Delta (305 Union Blvd & Higbie Lane) and Gas Stop (268 Higbie Lane & Paumanake Avenue) stations both offer the second lowest price in town, at $2.69 per gallon. However, residents don't have to travel far to receive the cheapest price from Queens to Montauk;  the Millenium station in Bay Shore is offering customers regular for $2.57 per gallon.
