West Islip Student-Musicians Selected To Perform At All-State Conference

WEST ISLIP, NY - A total of 11 West Islip High School student-musicians were recently selected by the New York State School Music Association to perform at the annual All-State Music Conference.

The conference, which will feature the finest musicians from across the state, will take place on Dec. 2 and 3 in Rochester, New York.

This was a record number of All-State honorees for West Islip.

The juniors and seniors chosen were:

• Gregory Bove - All-State Symphonic Band
• Joseph Hudson - All-State Symphonic Band
• George Lee - All-State Symphony Orchestra
• Lisa Esposito - All-State Treble Chorus
• Lauren Leonardi - All-State Treble Chorus
• Molly Perrone - All-State Treble Chorus
• Joseph Gusmano - All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble
• Jake Dieli - Alternate
• Matthew Falkenmayer - Alternate
• Erik Kier - Alternate
• Jefferson Xu - Alternate

In additional, 18 students were chosen to participate in All-County band, chorus and orchestra ensembles in the annual New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education All-County concert.

That event will be held on Nov. 17 at Hauppauge High School. Students were selected by NYSCAME from the best musicians of Suffolk County, based upon their NYSSMA solo evaluations.

• Lauren Leonardi - All-County Chorus
• Molly Perrone - All-County Chorus
• Anthony Venezia - All-County Chorus
