Dem-Held County Legislature To Bring Back Astorino-Vetoed Bills
With a Democratic as county executive, Democratic-majority legislators want to pursue their agenda.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Now that Democrats are in charge of legislative and administrative sides of Westchester County government, laws that were previously vetoed by former-County Executive Robert Astorino are being brought back for consideration. On the list are bills that would ban gun shows on county-owned property and limit the information Westchester can share with federal immigration authorities.
The Board of Legislators has a 12-5 Democratic majority and will re-introduce those bills and other at Monday’s meeting, the Journal News said.
Democratic George Latimer handily won election as county executive in November, beating Astorio, a republican with ties to President Donald Trump.
