Jazz Elite, a White Plains-based music program that helps young musicians develop their aural, sight-reading, improvisational, big band, and small ensemble playing skills, will be taking auditions for the 2011-2012 program year.
There are three programs:
- Jr. Jazz Elite Program: for students in grades 6 - 8 (exceptional 4th and 5th graders will also be considered)
- Jazz Elite Program: for students in grades 9 - 12 (exceptional 7th and 8th graders will also be considered)
- Jazz Elite Conglomerate College Division: for college students.
The commitment will be from mid-September until mid-June, with rehearsals on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. There are also Jazz Clinics throughout the year taught by famous music professionals.
