Blythedale Children's Hospital, along with Kohl's, the Westchester government and The Sneaky Chef (Missy Chase Lapine) have teamed up to celebrate the 1st annual National Food Day.
This FREE, family-friendly event promises to host a variety of hands-on, healthy food preparation activities and tastings. Come meet Westchester's signature chefs and sample their nutritious and delicious fare. Kids will help The Sneaky Chef create her luscious, "sneaky" pizzas and learn how many more vegetables they really like. Families can then purchase of some of these vegetables at the featured farmers' market, as well as other goodies throughout.
Kids will also enjoy the "movement room" where a DJ and fitness instructors will get their hearts pumping as they move through a variety of fun, activity stations. While the kids are exercising, parents can attend workshops to gather important health and nutritional information geared at preventing hypertension and diabetes in children.
