Associate Professor Paula Halperin and Assistant Professor Leandro Benmergui
seek to contextualize Pier Paolo Pasolini’s artistic work through the lens of the Cold War,
and to clarify his political and intellectual connections to what was called at the time The
Third World. The 1960s and 70s were years of radical and profound cultural transformation – and social and political cinemas were active instruments and vehicles that reflected and propelled change. Pasolini's deep connections to both Latin American cinema and their filmmakers ultimately shaped his work as an artist and intellectual.

This webinar event is part of the Neuberger Museum's Blueprint Event series, and is held in conjunction with the Pier Paolo Pasolini: Subversive Prophet that the museum organized. The exhibition opened on February 12, 2020. Although the museum is currently closed due to the health emergency, you can learn more about the exhibition by visiting (then scrolling down) https://neuberger.org/#exhibit
