Pace Law to Host Westchester Clean Energy Summit March 5
More than 100 state and local leaders to examine the benefits and impact of the state's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act

WHITE PLAINS, NY – March 2020 - The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, in partnership with the New York League of Conservation Voters and Sustainable Westchester, will host an important environmental summit to examine New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
The summit will be held on Thursday, March 5 from 8 -11:30 a.m. in the Robert B. Fleming Moot Court Room at the Gerber Glass Law Center at Haub Law at 78 North Broadway in White Plains.

The summit will bring together more than 100 environmental leaders to discuss the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), a historic climate law that puts New York on a path to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The CLCPA establishes economy-wide and electric sector targets for reducing emissions and scaling up clean energy. It extends and enhances a number of New York’s successful clean energy initiatives and includes several environmental justice components.
The summit will start with a breakfast followed by a welcome by Senator Peter Harckham and County Legislator Nancy Barr. Two panel discussions will follow: “New York’s Climate Law: Goals and Implications for Westchester County from 8:50-9:40 a.m. moderated by Julie Tighe, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters

and “Westchester Specific Solutions” from and 10:05am – 11 a.m. moderated by Craig Hart, Executive Director, Pace Energy and Climate Center.
