Westchester County Police to Add 3 New Officers

The positions were included in the 2016 budget.

A statement from Legislator John Testa, who is the minority leader, said that, even though the positions were included in the 2016 budget, it’s taken longer than anticipated to fill the jobs.

“Westchester has a tremendous amount of parklnad to cover and with the safety concerns we share as a nation, we need more police presence, not less,” he said.

“Hiring these officers is a good start, but we must look to continue to find ways to fill the vacancies that remain,” Testa said.
