$28K In Cash And Music Equipment Stolen From Parked Williamsburg Cars, Police Say

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for three thieves who broke into cars parked in Williamsburg and stole $25,000 in cash and $3,000 in equipment.

Two men broke into a car parked in front of 28 Debevoise St. on Friday, Oct. 13 around 8:50 a.m. and stole a 47-year-old woman’s purse with $25,000 stashed inside it, said police.

Police describe the suspects as two men wearing jeans and sweatshirts — one brown, one mustard yellow — who were last seen carrying the woman’s beige purse.

One week later, a 32-year-old man discovered someone had broken the windows of his 2013 Honda CVR —parked in front of 245 Manhattan Ave. — on Sunday around 1:15 a.m. and that $3,110 worth of music equipment was missing, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, whom police describe as a man in his early twenties dressed in grey.

Police do not believe the two crimes are connected and ask anyone with information about either incident to contact the NYPD.
